Tell City, Indiana Man Lands Exciting Country Music Tour with Jordan Davis
At the start of 2022, Luke Hilgenhold was thousands of miles away from home. The Tell City, Indiana native was in Playa del Carmen for the huge Crash My Playa event in Mexcio. That event, by the way, was headlined by Jason Aldean and another guy named Luke- Luke Bryan. Luke spent much of 2021 on the road with country music star Jameson Rodgers and those travels took him south of the border shortly after the turn of the near year.
Just last week, Luke was hanging out and taking in this view in San Diego, California.
For the last seven weeks, Luke's been on tour with K-Pop and he says it's his first time actually being away from home for that long.
Well, this week, he's going to say goodbye to home again. On Wednesday, Luke's flying back to Nashville and boarding a bus to hit the road on yet another tour. He shared the exciting news over the weekend.
Luke works for a concert merchandise company called Futureshirts and that job has afforded him the chance to hit the road with some of the biggest upcoming names in country music. Luke calls the lifestyle "Weekend Warrior" touring. He says, "I'm home in Nashville Monday through Wednesday, then on the road the other four days."
I asked Luke what the most exciting part of the job is and he admits it's the travel. "It is very neat to go to a lot of different places, even though we don't really have time to explore unless we have a day off."
That, by the way, happened last week in San Diego. He got the day off and got a free ticket to see Journey in concert! Of course, he couldn't help himself and took a photo of the Futureshirts merch table.
He also got a great shot from his seat at the concert!
Concerts have become Luke's life.
The biggest challenge about living a good chunk of that life on the road? Luke says, "Trying to adjust to being away from home. Just the little things that I didn't think I would miss- playing guitar, writing music, hanging with friends and, heck, even driving my car."
Well, that car's about to be sitting in park for a while again. The Jordan Davis Buy Dirt Tour bus is waiting and on Wednesday night Luke will climb aboard and head out for his next adventure.
His first three stops are back-to-back-to-back. First up, Atlanta. Then, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Richmond, Virginia.
In the famed words of country music icon Willie Nelson, Tell City's "Weekend Warrior" is on the road again. And it's clear from his excitement that Luke Hilgenhold just can't wait to get on the road again.
