Junior Achievement Needs Volunteers to Teach the Business of Business
Junior Achievement of Western Kentucky is looking for volunteers that are committed to making a difference in a young persons life. All that is required is a willingness to donate your time and efforts for a few short weeks. Local J.A. program director, LeAnne Shockley tells us:
"We are currently looking for individuals from leading area businesses to volunteer with Junior Achievement this semester at area schools in Owensboro and Daviess County. Our volunteers use their personal experiences and JA’s curricula to teach students different aspects of economics, including how a community works, how to manage personal finances or even how to run a business. JA also provides a one-hour orientation session for all new volunteers to discuss how to work with students as well as how to use our lesson plans and materials. "
If you would be willing to teach the JA program for any of these classrooms, please be sure to contact LeAnne Shockley, JA Program Director, at 270-684-7291 or leanne.shockley@ja.org. You can also complete or download a volunteer application online at http://westky.ja.org/VolunteerforJA_1Volunteer.html
