With all sports fans' eyes now focusing on the coming football season, the big question has been if there is even going to be a football season.

Right now, it looks like the answer to that is "yes," but the season will be a truncated one.

The SEC has announced that its football season will begin on September 26th and it will be a conference-only season.

That means the annual UK-U of L rivalry game, the Governor's Cup, will go by the wayside in 2020.

The conference-only schedule will consist of 10 games, according to SECSports.com, and the championship game which will take place at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium on December 19th.

As the conference's head office and its member schools monitor health trends in the south, plans are likely subject to change--something to which we've all grown accustomed in upended 2020.

Once it gets approval from the SEC's athletic directors, the conference will announce the revised 2020 schedule.
