KY Highway Snow & Ice Report Saturday, Jan 12
As temperatures inched up during the overnight hours Kentucky Transportation Cabinet crews in District 2 were able to ramp down snow and ice operations.
Crews started pulling back activities in southern counties that had less precipitation around 4:00 a.m.
As temperatures at some locations inched up to about 34 degrees around 6:00 a.m., additional crews were able to ramp down their salting and plowing activities. Daviess County still has trucks on the road at this hour.
With the forecast indicating a chance of some winter mix and snow on the back end as the system exits the area tonight, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Crews are on call and prepared to respond should tonight's round become more than flurries.
To the west in KYTC District 1, highway crews have also ramped down snow and ice operations where rising temperatures have also help to improve driving conditions.
This is our final snow & ice report for the day unless additional precipitation develops as temperatures drop this evening.
