Longaberger Giant Basket Headquarters Turning Into Hotel
It's one of the most recognizable landmarks in the midwest, the giant basket building and former headquarters of the Longaberger Basket Company. Here's a question, would you stay in the big basket?
Yes, the big basket building that was sold in December 2017, will be turned into a luxury hotel next year. First, here's a look at the now-abandoned property.
The unique building is in Newark, Ohio which is 33 miles east of Columbus. It was modeled on Longaberger's most popular item, the Medium Market basket. The company ceased operations last year.
Now here's a look inside the 7-story basket. An open house was held on October 21st, a day before the hotel announcement was made.
It's a bit of a long haul, but road trip worthy for sure.
