As the sunlit days get longer we have more time after work to play. That is the concept behind the Longest Day of Play. Daviess County Extension Agent Christie Ramey talked about the Longest Day on the Tuesday Morning Joe Lowe Morning Show. The longest day of summer is June 21.

The Longest Day kicks off Thursday, June 21 at Moreland Park. It runs from 4 p.m. till 8pm. The evening promises fun, food, and activities for the entire family. According to Ramey, family fun is what it's all about. "We want families to enjoy some heathy activities together. For many working families the longer days provide much needed time for these activities. "

Bouncy Houses, organized games like baseball, basketball, volleyball, frisbee toss and even dancing will be part of the activities.

There is also food with a "brown bag" meal thanks to Chic-fil-A and Kroger. There will also be prizes, food demonstrations and health ideas  for family fun.

Moreland Park provides lots of shade as well as many "playground options" for kids of all ages.

The entire event is free. For those who missed the interview with Ramey on the Joe Lowe Morning Show Tuesday morning, I have incuded the audio here.

Kathy and I plan on taking the grandkids to "Longest Day" Thursday. We hope to see you are your family at Moreland Park Thursday afternoon.
