A "Golden Alert" was issued for 79-year-old William D. Knott yesterday morning after Knott phoned a relative and said he was lost.   Mr. Knott suffers from dementia and became unaware of his location and surroundings. Later in the day, his phone stopped working (likely due to power failure) and relatives could no longer get hold of him.

But, there's VERY good news this morning.  According to the Kentucky State Police, Mr. Knott was safely located early today by Illinois State Police. Troopers found Knott in his vehicle on the side of I-70 in Greenup Illinois, which is between Effingham, IL, and Terra Haute, IN .

An ambulance was called to his location as a precautionary matter. Family has been notified and arrangements are being made for his safe return.
