The National Emergency Grant (NEG) program, through the U.S. Department of Labor, provides funds for temporary employment on projects to help with cleanup, demolition, repair, renovation and reconstruction of destroyed public structures, facilities and lands.

Hancock, Henderson and Webster county fiscal courts, as well as the cities of Calhoun, Hawesville, Livermore and Owensboro, have requested workers through this grant.

To be eligible to participate in this program, an individual must be dislocated as a result of the disaster, no longer receiving Unemployment Insurance, or unemployed for at least 27 weeks.

This grant is part of a $4.2 million NEG allocation for the commonwealth of Kentucky to create approximately 317 temporary jobs.
