
Newburgh Student Gets ‘Burgoo’ in Nat’l Spelling Bee First Round
I've always said that I don't expect folks who aren't from Kentucky, and especially Daviess County, to like mutton or burgoo.
Non-natives HAVE been known to surprise me, but, for the most part, my theory holds up.
However, when it comes to competitive spelling, none of that matters.
Give me a word and I'll spell it and it's off to the next round.
Castle North Middle School student Pranav Chandar is competing in the Scripps-Howard National Spelling Bee and got THIS as his first word in competition:
