Daviess County Sheriff Keith Cain was surrouded by heros Tuesday on the Sportscenter Parking Lot. The Heros were World War Two Veterans who were about to embark on a campaign to Washington D.C.

It is part of the Honor Flight sponsored locally by the Noon Rotary Club. Nine World War Two Vets are being given the VIP Treatment as they visit the War Memorials in Washington D.C. Tuesday was the first leg of the trip from Owensboro to Louisville. Wed Morning they board an early flight to Washington D.C. and return back to Louisville to spend the night. Thursday morning the group will return home to a hero's welcome at 11 A.M. at the War Memorial at the Sportscenter.

For most of these men it is the first time they have been to Washington. For all of them this trip will be their first to the World War II War Memorial.

Those Veterans making the trip include:

George Thomas Snyder

Kenneth Lee Reynolds

Earl E. Fort

Wilburn Gerald Ford

Thomas Alton Curstinger

Guy Moorman Deane Jr.

Chester D. Miller

Robert Lawton

Ira Guffey
