OHS Graduate Establishes Mentor Program Targeting At Risk Teens in Owensboro
Breaking The Cycle Mentor Program is taking to the community here in Owensboro to target At-Risk Teens and they are looking for willing volunteers as well as referrals.
Brionna Greer a former graduate of Owensboro High School is the founder of Breaking the Cycle Mentor program with mentors including Ashton Robertson and Alazia Baker.
The mission of this program is to help at-risk youth by providing them with the resources they need to be successful in life.
Some of the activities the program has to offer are:
1on1 mentorship
College visits
Job searches
Job shadowing
Confidence Building workshops
The goal is to ensure the youth in our community to make better choices and not engage in activities that could cost them their freedom or even worse their life.
Meetings are held twice monthly on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday at Dugan Best Recreation Center 1003 Omega St, Owensboro, KY 42301.
Currently, they are recruiting more kids and mentors. They want mentors who are passionate about kids and want to see them succeed as well as someone who is able to dedicate their time to the program and make a difference in the lives of others.
Any questions or interest in the program should contact Brionna Greer, Ashton Robertson, or Alazia Baker on Facebook, Instagram, or Snapchat.
