Owensboro Police Department Chief Art Ealum has been appointed to the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council

The KLEC is comprised of 23 members, 12 of whom are appointed by the Governor. The council's main duties are to govern the training curriculum used for law enforcement training in Kentucky as well as oversee the abilities of those tasked as instructors.

Chief Ealum has 25 years of law enforcement experience with OPD; with the last four years serving as the department's chief. His appointment to the KLEC will expire July 1, 2020. Daviess County Sheriff Keith Cain currently serves as Chair of the KLEC.
