Owensboro Police Make Arrest After Late Night Shooting

A shooting on Owensboro's east side late Tuesday night has resulted in the arrest of 19-year-old Jahlil Barrett.

According to an Eyewitness News/WEHT report, police learned that an adult male was driven to the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital around 10PM Tuesday. He was suffering from a gunshot wound.

En route, the man said that there had been another shooting victim, as well. The police later found out that the second individual was being treated at the hospital.

The scenario unfolded when one of the shooting victims came to the door of a neighbor on East 20th Street. It was that neighbor who drove the man to the hospital.

Barrett was arrested and charged with assault and is lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.

Police say that neither injury appears to be life-threatening.

The investigation is ongoing.
