Parts of the Tristate Under Winter Weather Advisory Tonight [Forecast]
I have a hunch we're going to see a lot of these this week. With multiple chances for doses of winter weather this week, the National Weather Service has issued what could be the first of several Winter Weather Advisories (or worse) for the week.
The first goes into effect at 3pm this afternoon and primarily affects areas along and north of the Ohio River. Here's what we can expect this evening and overnight.
From the National Weather Service:
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 3pm Monday afternoon to 6am Tuesday afternoon (CST). Snow will change to light freezing rain late this evening. Snow accumulations Snow accumulations will average an inch, with some locally higher amounts. A light glaze of ice accumulation is expected on top of the snow.
Areas affected include Southwest Indiana, portions of southern Illinois along and north of Highway 13, as well as Union and Henderson counties in western Kentucky.
Plan on slick roads and sidewalks. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.
And, that's just for tomorrow. Tuesday night into Wednesday, we actually have a chance of accumulating ice. We shared that news yesterday here at WBKR.
