Your new best friend is waiting for you at PetSmart on Saturday, May 18th, 2019. During the National Adoption Day event, there will be various rescues on site, with pets that are looking for their fur-ever families. Do you need a little more love and laughter in your life?

Well, get ready for some love, fun and best- friend companionship when you find that perfect fit for your family. Stop by PetSmart in Owensboro between 10 AM – 4 PM on Saturday and it may just happen. If you can't adopt, you can still support these rescues by making a monetary donation, dropping off food or supplies, ask about fostering and so much more!

I don't know what I would do, if I wouldn't have adopted my sweet Lucy and CoCo. The joy they bring to my life is something I can't explain. Trust me, it takes some work at the beginning. You have to be patient and teach your new rescue the rules of the home. If you adopt a senior dog, depending on how they've been living, you really need to love them back to life.

I was told once, that dogs that are over 7 years-old, are some of the first to be euthanized at shelters. If the dog is older and has medical issues, their life is in jeopardy. Many are puppy mill dogs. Once a female dog can't produce puppies any more or the male isn't needed any more, they go straight to the shelter. Not always, but it happens a lot. That's when rescues like SparKY step in to save them.

Here's to finding your new best friend and good luck!
