Reba McEntire Was the Original Choice for Molly Brown In Titanic

Back in 1997, when Titanic came out, I was the happiest kid in the world.  I was an AVID fan of Titanic.  It was more about the ship than anything... talk about some serious history.  Movie was sweet too.

I learned something interesting today when I was scrolling.  Reba McEntire was the original choice by James Cameron to play the role of the Unsinkable Molly Brown in Titanic.  I always thought the Unsinkable Molly Brown got her name because she was a big ole' girl, but apparently everyone on the lifeboat with Molly was getting sick of her rambling the whole time and she even tried to commandeer the lifeboat because she was sick of sitting still out in the ocean.  She was uncontrollable, so basically unsinkable.

Reba turned down the job because of a scheduling conflict and James' second choice was my girl Kathy Bates.  Kathy accepted it and she killed it.  One of the most successful movies in the world!  What would it have been like if Reba was in there?  Much much different I'd imagine.
