Red Cross Facing Emergency Blood Shortage

There is less than three days worth of each blood type.

The American Red Cross is facing a blood shortage and has an emergency need for blood and platelet donors to give now to replenish the blood supply.

The 4th of July holiday is somewhat responsible for the shortage because less blood drives were hosted during the short week. This resulted in a shortfall of over 24,000 donations.
