Shooting Victim Pronounced Dead at OMS

We just received the following from the Owensboro Police Department regarding a shooting death early this morning. 

The Owensboro Police Department responded to Owensboro Medical Health System after receiving a call from the hospital of a patient being brought in with a gun shot wound at approximately 3:30 a.m. on August 2, 2012.

The male subject was pronounced dead at Owensboro Medical Health System.  

An initial investigation conducted by detectives with the Owensboro Police Department has produced information that the shooting incident occurred in Spencer County, Indiana. 

Indiana State Police were contacted and have taken over responsibility for investigating the incident.
