Airbnb's

I've never slept in a dollhouse. Let's get that out of the way from the get-go. However, I have found a place in Clarksville, Missouri you can stay at that looks like a dollhouse overlooking the mighty Mississippi River.

I've probably seen a zillion vacation possibilities in Missouri and Illinois so it's frankly kind of hard to impress me. This new Mt. Sterling place managed to do the impossible mainly because it has a very sweet private lake.

Did you know that a 176-year-old castle awaits on a countryside in Missouri awaiting your arrival on horseback? OK, so you can drive there, too...but it really is a castle in Missouri that you can stay in and I have pics to prove it.

I dare you to find a more unique building in all of Missouri than this one. It's a historic Hermann church that is now a huge Airbnb that just so happens to have a cemetery located right next to it.

It's nice to rough it when you really don't have to "rough it". That's an apt description for an epic Missouri tipi where the only neighbors are wildlife, but it really is a luxurious destination for a lot of different reasons.

If you do a search for places you can stay that are "secret", "peaceful" or "off-the-beaten path", there is one treehouse that gets mentioned in Missouri. It's one that you can really stay at, too.

If you're rich and/or famous in Missouri, where do you go when you want to stay in a treehouse? Believe it or not, there is an option and I have the pictures of this ritzy place near Branson to prove it.

Sometimes it's good to getaway without having to getaway too far. If that's your mentality right now, I found a rustic Quincy cabin that has a peaceful pond in the back that you can stay at.

If you get all warm inside when you think of teeny tiny things, I found a place in Missouri you can stay at that also has teeny tiny animals like goats and ponies, too.

There's nothing quite like falling asleep when you have the Mississippi River nearby. If that's also on your list of "things you'd like to experience on a getaway", I found a place in Hamilton, Illinois that offers that and also an orchard view.
