Coming up Today (Tuesday) around Noon the city of Owensboro will learn whether or not the Glover H. Cary Bridge will be opening back up a day before Thanksgiving.

Keith Todd the public information officer for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 2 office in Madisonville said Monday that the word would be released and decided upon around midday Tuesday.

Wednesday the 27th will mark the 12th day past the original opening date of November 15th.  This would normally be a two year project but with the company using extra crews to complete it quicker and more efficiently.  It was completed in less than 7 months.

From the Messenger Inquirer Tuesday morning - Transportation Cabinet inspectors asked for an extra $150,000 in needed repairs to a number of beams and joints and additional concrete repairs on older sections of the bridge deck.
