Audubon Elementary School

Thursday

Family Reading Night “Reading Road Trip”. 6:15-7:30 There will be light refreshments, prizes and READING!! There will be hands on reading activities for students and information for parents about raising successful readers. We’re planning this evening to be a fun reading event! Come a few minutes early to see our Technology Club’s “Projects Mini-Showcase!”

Burns Elementary School

Tuesday, November 15th-  Reading and Science Night 6:00-7:00p.m.

Students will be demonstrating hands on, creative science experiments.  Visitors will also be touring the Star Lab.  Fancy Nancy will be present to share her thoughts on being “fancy”.  Students in grade K-3 are encouraged to attend dressed as their favorite literary character;  4th grade students are encouraged to dress as their favorite scientist;  and 5th grade students are encouraged to come dressed a famous explorer, politician, or figure from history.  Fun will be had by all!

Friday, November 18thBobcat Bash 7:30a.m. in gym

School wide assembly focusing on student and staff achievements.  Exceptional Conduct Awards will be given out.

East View Elementary School      East View collects for families in need through our annual food drive.  Food drive will end this Friday and goodies will be delivered to East View families on November 22nd.

Meadow Lands Elementary School

Wednesday, November 16, MLES will be offering a Thanksgiving meal from 10:30 until 12:25.  All parents and family members are welcome to attend.  An RSVP is required.

Sorgho Elementary School

Sorgho FRC will start on Monday, November 14th their annual Caring CATS Food Drive.  The food drive will run through December 16th.  The items received will be used to make food baskets for Sorgho families to use during the two weeks of Christmas break.

On Friday, November 18th, Sorgho will host an After-school Fun day from 2:30-4:00 for P3/4th/5th grade students.  The proceeds will benefit the 5th grade Washington DC trip in March.

Southern Oaks Elementary School

Wednesday, Nov. 16 – “Think Big, Eat Smart” Assembly 1:00 - World’s Finest Chocolate largest candy bar in the world will be exhibited!  21 feet long!  The assembly brings an upbeat message of moderation, portion control, and active lifestyles to schools around the country in a fun, engaging way.  There’s even a special song and dance to get students moving toward their goals.

Friday, Nov. 18th – Grandparent’s Day - Our special guests will join us for a “Turkey and Trimmings” meal!

Tamarack Elementary School

Tuesday – Math Scrimmage Test 2nd – 5th grades based on new Content Standards. 8 am

Wednesday – Science Activity Bus here all day (parked outside of school – hands on activities for students)

Thursday – Science Activity Bus here all day

10:00 NED Assembly - Gym (Juggler to give message to students to Never Give Up, Encourage Others and Do your Best.  Also, ties in an anti-bullying message)
