Have you, for whatever reason, been putting off seeing a big summer movie until, maybe, the crowds get a little thinner? Well, put those thoughts aside.

I say that because the crowds will most definitely NOT be small this Saturday at the Malco Owensboro Cinema Grill & MXT. When you're only charging three dollars to see a first-run movie, you get big crowds.

NATIONAL CINEMA DAY

This Satuday, September 3rd, is National Cinema Day, and theaters across the country are celebrating by only charging patrons three dollars for admission.

So that should answer the question that I had when I heard about this tremendous opportunity--yes, MXT is on the table.

THREE-DOLLAR MOVIES AT THE MALCO OWENSBORO CINEMA GRILL & MXT

I'll never forget when the new Malco Owensboro Cinema Grill & MXT opened at Gateway Commons in 2019. How exciting to have that kind of experience available right here in my own hometown.

But then I'll ALSO never forget what happened eight months later. Yes, COVID-19 reared its terribly ugly head and forced theaters nationwide to shutter for a period of time.

However, when they all reopened, fans clamored for the opportunity to get back inside a movie theater; there's really nothing like seeing a movie on a big screen.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO SEE FOR THREE BUCKS AT THE MALCO?

If you haven't the year's BIGGEST blockbuster, you can now for next to nothing. I guess you can never REALLY count out Tom Cruise, can you?

Or maybe you just see it again, or for the third or fourth time. It didn't get to $691 million-plus without repeat viewing. Of course, there will be many movies from which to choose, and you might even make a day of it.

By the way, Showplace Cinemas in Evansville will also be participating.

National Cinema Day will be a way to get folks into theaters on a traditionally quiet box office weekend; unlike Memorial Day Weekend--near the beginning of the summer movie season--theaters typically see far less traffic on Labor Day Weekend.

That won't happen THIS Saturday, thanks to the Cinema Foundation, a non-profit arm of the National Association of Theater Owners.

Maybe I'll see you at the movies. Just save me some popcorn.
