If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times...as much as we don't like it, we really NEED cold winters.

In fact, we not only need normal cold in the winter, we need stretches in the winter where it's below normal. And you don't have to take my word for it. An environmental biologist with the Kentucky Division of Epidemiology and Health Planning says the same thing.

One of the trade-offs is fewer issues with TICKS.

We already know what the heavy rain in the first six months of this year has done with the snake population. (SPOILER ALERT: There are more of them.)

Now, we have the tick situation.

Keep in mind...they're not saying we have MORE ticks than usual this year. It's just that they've arrived much earlier.

I never wanted them to arrive at all, but they didn't ask me.
