Traffic Shifts Expected When WK Parkway 231 Overpass Is Replaced
In 2019, those of us who used the Western Kentucky Parkway in Ohio County frequently, experienced a detour around the 231 overpass for quite a few months.
Well, it's time to expect some more and significant traffic shifts as the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced plans to begin work to replace the eastbound portion of that overpass.
When work on the project begins on February 18th, eastbound traffic will take the exit 75 offramp which leads to U.S. 231. Motorists who wish to keep traveling on the parkway will go through the intersection and re-enter via the onramp.
Message boards are already in place alerting drivers to the project.
The work is scheduled to finish in June.
Westbound traffic will be unaffected.
