UK, Louisville, and WKU Players Forgoing NBA Draft
With the NBA Draft just weeks away, all kinds of players from Kentucky universities have announced they are withdrawing and staying in school.
To be fair, Wednesday was the deadline for players to forgo the draft. First up, Nick Richards of Kentucky. The junior will be the most experienced player returning to the Cats next season.
It was next announced WKU big man and C-USA Freshman of the Year, Charles Bassey would be returning to the Hill for his sophomore season. Bassey was one of 24 freshmen invited to the NBA Draft Combine. He was also named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year.
More good news for Kentucky fans, power forward EJ Montgomery will be returning for his sophomore year. He stepped in to start when PJ Washington was injured during the NCAA Tournament. 40 percent of Montgomery's rebounds last season came on the offensive end.
Finally, two key players for Chris Mack's first year as head coach of the Louisville Cardinals are coming back. 6-8 forward Jordan Nwora led the Cards in scoring and rebounding last season will be a junior. Center Steven Enoch is returning for his final season of eligibility.
