A warming center is available at St. Benedict's Homeless Shelter at 1007 W. 7th Street in Owensboro. Those seeking shelter without a meal can show up at St. Benedict's anytime between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.

Shelter and a warm meal will be available at the Pitino Shelter at 501 Walnut Street. Dinner will be at 5:30 p.m. nightly and if there is not bed space available, overnight shelter and warmth will be at St. Benedict's.

Transportation within the city limits will be available via the Owensboro Transit System. The ride is free for city buses at 4:35 p.m., 5:20 p.m. and 6:05 p.m. Those without transportation in the city, there is a stop near the Pitino Shelter. Residents can ride free of charge as long as they let the driver know they need a ride to the shelter.

If residents out in the county need transportation to the shelter, they need to contact Harry Pedigo at 270-315-4419 before 4:00 p.m.

Overnight wind chills tonight through Tuesday night are expected to be at or below 15 degrees.
