The "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign has certainly been making its mark as our Kentucky law enforcement officers having been going above and beyond keeping us safe from impaired drivers.

The national campaign began on August 16th with law enforcement officers nationwide diligently watching for violators.

And, so, in a five-day span, Kentucky State Police, according to WAVE3-Louisville, arrested 347 impaired drivers.

347!

Additionally, SINCE August 16th, there have been 53 crashes involving impaired drivers.

Also, the statistics regarding accidents and impaired driving are, well, sobering.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that there's an impaired driving-related fatality every 50 minutes.

Pretty jarring.

It's why these campaigns are so important. It's why we need to remember WHY they're important every single day of our lives.
