Right now, as I type this, my air conditioner at home is turned off. That's how I'm saving money this summer. There's no point in it running when I'm not there. And it cools off quickly when I get home and turn it on.

Consumer Reports has released new information on the best temperatures at which to keep your home to save money during the summer months.

And I'm going to have to disagree.

By that I mean, I ain't doin' it.

I can't argue with their findings, I guess, because they're the experts, but there is NO way in Hades that I can sleep if it is 82 degrees in my bedroom.

Won't happen.

As far as keeping it at 78 while you're home. Well, that one's up in the air. 78 isn't prohibitively warm, but if you're coming inside after being out all day and it's a scorcher, I don't see how that temperature would be enough.

Again, these are just recommendations based on their findings, but I know COLD-natured people who couldn't sleep with the thermostat on 82.

And 85 when you're not home? I'm not gonna argue since, like I said, I turn mine all the way off.

What do you think? What does your thermostat read when you're at home, not at home, and asleep?
