Tuesday, April 19—7:30 Guest Speaker via Skype—Gregory Gaddis NASA Test Director will talk with the students about what it takes to S.O.A.R. in life. 

Wrap up of the Fast Friday Competition:  1:15—3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will wrap up their competition.  Students will show off their talents as they face off against each other, then against the teachers.

Friday, April 22nd:  State Testing Assembly-  in gym at 1:00

Survivor-  Assembly will focus on five important skills to prepare for testing.  Staff and students will be participating in skits, with a little fun competition, that demonstrate these skills.  The goal of this assembly is to motivate and prepare students, to be successful, in the upcoming state testing.

CATS Rally –

“We are In it to WIN it”  - Competitions amongst teams, individuals, and teachers to get us excited about the upcoming KCCT test!  Highland will follow the Minute to Win It format.

Thursday – 3:00 Nature’s Theatre Dedication.  A reception will be held in the backyard (weather permitting) or in the Media Center, to dedicate a memorial area to deceased Tamarack Teachers. 

The Faculty and Staff of Tamarack Elementary will be dedicating a memorial area as part of our growing Outdoor Classroom. This area was partially funded by donations made following the passing of Nancy McFarland.  A group of retired teachers wanted to give something to the school in her memory – and from that generosity – this idea bloomed! Teachers who have passed away are remembered in this special area with name markers and a plaque which reads:

“Dedicated by our retired teachers, to the memory and honor of those teachers who shared their natural love for teaching and learning with the family of Tamarack Elementary School”

6:00 Daddy & me Movie Night for grades 3,4,5.  Pizza and a Movie will be shared in the cafeteria with the large screen movie.

Friday – SHINE Students will be rewarded during lunch with a “cool treat” for their attendance, homework and good behavior.

There will be a DUI simulator here on Friday.  It’s being coordinated by Carrie Kimbrell (YSC) and/or Russ Day (SRO). 

DCHS students have organized a “Meet you at the Pole” prayer service at 7:30 a.m. Friday morning, in the auditorium.
