A Summer Jump Start on College for Students
Community Campus is now accepting applications for students currently enrolled in grades 6, 7 and 10 for opportunities being offered this summer.
The following information has been sent home but, as we all know, sometimes things don't quite make it to Mom or Dad. Soooooo, we are posting the information here for those interested.
Parents of current Sophomores – Want to help your son or daughter get a jump start on college credit? Start with a two-week college-credit course in business this summer. The class is the first of four college-credit business courses that will transfer to a four-year college program. If your son or daughter is interested in business – possibly owning his/her own business – this is an opportunity to complete the first half of the first year of college before high school graduation. There is an emphasis on entrepreneurship. Business courses offered include Introduction to Business, Finance, Accounting and Legal and Ethical Principles with an opportunity to launch a business their senior year. This class is offered through Community Campus Business/Entrepreneurship pathway. For more information, call Marcia Carpenter at 270-852-7300, ext. 239 or e-mail email@example.com
Parents of current 6th and 7th grade girls – Gateway Academy Summer Day Camp for girls is being offered June 4-8 OR June 11-15 at Apollo High School (same camp/program is being offered two different weeks). The camp inspires students in math and science through hands-on, real-world problem solving projects. This is a nationally recognized program that ignites passion for jobs ranging from health care to engineering. The deadline to sign up is April 15. Applications are available at www.communitycampus.me or call Marcia Carpenter at 270-852-7300, ext 239. Students are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.
