Applications are now available for the third class of Emerge Owensboro, the community’s leadership development program, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation.

Developing leaders and utilizing their talents for the betterment of the community and their employers is the goal of the Emerge Owensboro program. The program exposes participants to community issues as well as teaches leadership skills over the course of eight months. The class is open to any resident of the community.

A full-day will start the program on September 8th. Classes will consist of both half-day and full-day sessions typically on the second Thursday of each month through April 2012 with graduation at the May 3rd, 2012 Chamber Rooster Booster Breakfast. Topics that will be examined include education, the local economy, human needs and services, local government issues, healthcare and more. Class members will have a number of required activities including a group project. A trip to Frankfort in February will allow class members to meet local legislators.
