Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum Sneak Peek! [PHOTOS]
The Grand Opening for the new Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum is right around the corner. We got a sneak peek today and wanted to share this photo tour!
The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum will open the weekend of October 18th-20th, 2018 and we're SO excited. There will be live music, special guests, exhibit openings, and a celebration of the legends of bluegrass music. This is truly a special place.
My tour today of the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum reminded me of the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It's just packed with exhibits, artifacts and more!
The state-of-the-art Woodward Theatre is gorgeous. Comfy seats, one of the best sound and light systems in the country and a lot of leg and elbow room. They thought of everything! I can't wait to see a show. Luckily, there's some great acts coming soon which include: Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, The Del McCoury Band, Sam Bush, The Infamous Stringdusters, and Hot Rize. Tickets on sale now at: www.bluegrassmuseum.org/tickets.
Come hungry as there's also great concessions with ice cold beverages available. They even set up big screen televisions to broadcast the concerts in the lobby so you don't miss a thing when your getting that snack or drink!
They plan to have music playing throughout the Museum on different stages and educational sessions too!
The outdoor concerts will be amazing with the Ohio River as the backdrop!
Bluegrass music fans will LOVE this FREE concert celebration during the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum Grand Opening weekend! Take a tour of the Museum and then head to the lawn for an amazing celebration.
The Yonder Mountain String Band, Town Mountain, Front Country, and High Fidelity - Bluegrass will take the outdoor stage for a FREE concert on Saturday from 12PM-9PM in downtown Owensboro. The entire community is invited!
While your there be sure to check out the IBMA Bluegrass Hall of Fame. These are the pioneers of Bluegrass Music and deserve the recognition. They also have installed watch and listen stations to take a video and oral history journey through the thousands of archives.
The Museum is also set up for rentals. Parties, Proms or Weddings, they offer a couple of beautiful spaces based on the size of the party. The views are spectacular from the venue. Those spaces will be ready to rent at the first of the year so book your date now as they'll fill up fast!
