Haunts of Owensboro Hosting Friday the 13th Ghost Walk Tours

It's Friday the 13th and if you're one of "those" people and like having the crap scared out of you or love being completely creeped out you're gonna love this.

WHAT IS THE HAUNTS OF OWENSBORO?

The Haunts of Owensboro is one of the coolest and spookiest parts of our community. It is a walking tour that takes a little over an hour and you visit some of Owensboro's most haunted sites in the downtown area. Sights include Trinity Center, home of Theatre Workshop of Owensboro, the Owensboro Area Museum of Science & History, the Daviess County Courthouse, and a few not named.

WHERE CAN I FIND A GHOST WALK TOUR

Haunts of Owensboro hosts Ghost Walk tours at different times of the year and can also be scheduled any Friday and Saturday night by making a reservation. They are hosting one this weekend to celebrate Friday the 13th. The tour is totally brand-new with new stories and new places added to the journey. The tour starts at 8 p.m. and you need to meet at 203 W. 4th street.

WHAT IS THE ORIGIN OF FRIDAY THE 13TH?

As I was researching the origin I found many answers but what seemed to be a common theme was the fear of most people for the number 13 and how it seems to be thought of as unlucky.

Here is what History.com provided:

According to biblical tradition, 13 guests attended the Last Supper, held on Maundy Thursday, including Jesus and his 12 apostles (one of whom, Judas, betrayed him). The next day, of course, was Good Friday, the day of Jesus’ crucifixion. The seating arrangement at the Last Supper is believed to have given rise to a longstanding Christian superstition that having 13 guests at a table was a bad omen—specifically, that it was courting death.

I don't know about you all but I'm not a superstitious person so numbers and days don't really scare me but I am quite positive going on a ghost walk will do the trick.
