Churchill Downs Adding Hotel, Gaming to Racetrack
During a quarterly earnings meeting on Thursday, Churchill Downs International CEO Bill Carstanjen announced some additions will be coming to the world-famous racetrack.
A hotel, gaming facility with slot games, and additional premium seating would be added to the track as early as 2021. So far, the details are the hotel will include suites overlooking the track and with it, the gaming facility and additional seats would be located near the first turn.
The Louisville track's license from the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission allows for up to 2,000 historical racing machines. Derby City Gaming, owned by Churchill Downs, opened last year.
