Daviess Co. Sheriffs Dept. Issues Scam Alert

Daviess County Sheriff Keith Cain says his Department has received reports that citizens of Daviess County are receiving automated phone calls on their cell phones from out of state. These people are portraying themselves as the "Daviess County Federal Teachers Credit Union".

The recording then advises the person to enter their 16-digit debit card number into the phone to "UNLOCK" their card and accounts.

Citizens are advised not to enter their accounts over the phone and to contact their own bannking institution during business hours if there are any further questions concerning their account.

Again it is stressed to NEVER give out account or personal information over the phone or internet to unknown people.
