On Saturday, May 6th, over 240 elementary school kids will join voices for a big choir concert at Daviess County High School.  And they will be lead by a notable guest conductor!

The Elementary Honor Choir is made up of more than 240 students representing 33 regional elementary schools in Daviess, Hancock, Ohio, McLean, Henderson, Hopkins, Union and Webster counties.  The Honor choir includes student vocalists from all twelve elementary schools in the Daviess County Public School System: Audubon, Burns, Country Heights, Deer Park, East View, Highland, Meadow Lands, Sorgho, Southern Oaks, Tamarack, West Louisville and Whitesville.  Plus, it features students from four schools representing Owensboro Public Schools: Cravens, Foust and Sutton elementary schools as well as the Owensboro 5-6 Center).  And the choir features elementary school singers from Owensboro Catholic Schools as well.

Guest conductor for the concert is John Jacobson of California, a nationally recognized songwriter, composer, arranger and choreographer. He is a former choreographer for Disney and has performed on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.  The local concert will feature the world premiere of Jacobson’s composition, “Sing With Me.” Other songs to be include one that nearly everyone will recognize . . . “Circle of Life” from Disney’s The Lion King;

The concert is free and open to the public.  It is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, May 6, in the auditorium at Daviess County High School here in Owensboro.
