Evansville Corn Maze Pays Tribute to WW2 Veterans
2019 marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day and Goebel Farms is honoring WW2 veterans with their corn maze this year. Here's the sneak peek!
Every year Goebel Farms in Evansville hosts all kinds of fun events for fall. It's become a family tradition for us to go, pictured above is my nephew Brayden enjoying the 2018 corn maze. Each year Goebel Farms has a theme to their corn maze, and typically the themes revolve around some kind of big event or news that year.
This year they've decided to do a theme that's very important and near and dear to their hearts. June 6th 2019 marked the 75th anniversary of D-Day so Goebel Farms decided to use their corn maze this year to pay tribute to all who served in WW2.
Here's what Goebel Farms said about this years theme:
Here’s an early look at our 2019 corn maze! We had some water issues so the corn didn’t come up absolutely perfect, but for the most part it came up well. This year we are honoring ALL of the WORLD WAR II Veterans! This year marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day. Our Uncle and Great Uncle Donald Cobb was there on that day at Omaha beach. He is the inspiration for this year’s maze. He just published a book at 94 years young on Amazon. The title is “The Lady With a Shamrock” by Donald Cobb. Link to the book in the comments. June 6, 1944 was the start of the end of World War II! 75 years later we are remembering the great sacrifice and courage of the greatest generation! There are 4 miles of pathways to get lost in this year’s maze which opens the middle of September!
