It's truly a horrific allegation of abuse. A woman in Excelsior Springs, Missouri was found by neighbors crawling on their porch after she said she had escaped her captor while wearing a metal dog collar which had been placed on her neck.

KMBC is reporting that a 22-year-old woman was held captive for a month by a man she says raped her repeatedly and locked her in a small room. He allegedly placed a metal collar around her neck equipped with a padlock and handcuffed her wrists and ankles. The captivity happened for more than a month.

The woman escaped when the man she called "Timothy" left her alone in the home for a short time. That's when she crawled to a nearby neighbor wearing what was described as a trash bag, duct tape with the metal collar still in place. The residents of the home gave her refuge as they called the police.

KSHB reports that the woman has injuries that are consistent with her story. WTHR is reporting she is hospitalized in stable condition.

The suspect of this crime is 39-year-old Timothy Haslett Jr. who was taken into custody by police and charged with first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping and second-degree assault.

The story could potentially get worse as the woman who escaped said there were others that "didn't make it". Police are now reportedly investigating that possibility but have no evidence as of this time to substantiate the claim. However, the report says that they did find the basement in the home exactly as the woman described.

KSHB is reporting that the FBI is now involved with the investigation.
