Here at WBKR, we like to celebrate some of those random "national holidays" that someone somewhere makes up.  LOL!  Well, today is one of those days.  It's National Vichyssoise Day.  Have you ever heard of it?  Well, first of all (in case you're looking at that word wondering what in the heck it is or how you say it), it's pronounced Vishy-Swah.  And, though it can be served warmed, it's typically a chilled, potato-based soup.  Yes, you heard me . . . it's cold soup.  And, in the grand tradition of forcing my friend Leisa to try foods that are completely out of her comfort zone, I once talked her into trying Asparagus Vichyssoise.  Yes, chilled asparagus soup.   And, as you can imagine, it didn't go well . . .

There you have it!  Now that you've seen it and heard of it, let me know.  Would YOU eat it?  Oh, and happy National Vichyssoise Day.
