For some reason this is one of the events I really look forward to each years. Maybe it's the great chili and hot dogs. It could be the fellowship with friends and family. OR....it could be outbidding someone for one the best pies ever....Yeah that's the ticket. Plus it is a great cause. I hope to see everyone there but be forewarned, If it is a pie Kathy and I want, we take no prisioners. Last year we rode with the Mattingly's and I still ran my finger thru the topping of his Pineapple upside down cake.

This event is an old-fashioned chili supper and pie auction, sponsored annually by the Whitesville Lions Club, to benefit the Wendell Foster Campus for Developmental Disabilities in Owensboro, KY.

Last year County Judge Execuitve Al Mattingly and I both bid over $100 on a pie. (They taste better when you pay more.) The bidding for the pies and cakes gets a bit heated from time to time but the money all goes to a great cause. Sometimes the politicians get involved and it can get really crazy. It IS an election year.

Chili, hot dogs and drinks will be available at 5:00. At 6:00, you'll have the chance to bid on a huge selection of the BEST pies and cakes in Daviess County. From homemade pecan pies to red velvet cake, they have it all.
