Johnson & Johnson Recalls some Baby Powder After Asbestos Found

Johnson & Johnson has announced a voluntary recall of a single lot of its Johnson's Baby Powder after the FDA discovered a chrysotile asbestos contamination in samples from a single bottle purchased from an online retailer.

Johnson & Johnson says it is working with the Food and Drug Administration to investigate how the bottle became contaminated. They also stated in the press release that two previous test have found no asbestos. One of those tests took place last month.

Nevertheless, the company is recalling a lot of 33,000 bottles. If you own a bottle of Johnson's Baby Powder Lot #22318RB, do not continue to use the product.

Exposure to asbestos can cause mesothelioma, a rare but fatal cancer that targets the lining of the lungs.
