Up until now, I've only seen pro teams play games in England, the NFL and MLB come to mind. The Kentucky Wildcats will make history next year as one of the first NCAA Division I teams to play in London's biggest arena.

Sure, college teams venture to Europe, Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas all the time for warm-up games and many of their athletes compete in the Olympics, but what UK will be doing will be the first of its kind.

The Cats have signed a three-year deal with the University of Michigan for three games to be played in the next three years, the first being a match-up at the O2 Arena in London in December of 2020. The game will be hosted by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and it will also serve as a fundraiser for the Hall.

It's the first time an NCAA Division I Basketball game will be played at the O2.

Kentucky will then travel to Ann Arbor to take on the Wolverines on December 4th, 2021. Michigan will take on the Cats in Rupp Arena on December 3rd, 2022.

The exact date for the London contest will be announced soon.
