Malik Monk Named Oscar Robertson Player of the Week by U.S. Basketball Writers Association
Malik Monk's outstanding performance and 47 points against North Carolina has earned him the U.S. Basketball Writers Association's Oscar Robertson Player of the Week honors.
The 6-3 freshman from Lepanto, Arkansas is leading all Wildcats in scoring with 21.9 points per game. Saturday's 47 points tied Dan Issel's mark of sixth-most points in a game by a Wildcat. It was also the most points any player under Coach John Calipari has scored in a single game.
