I've got good news and bad news. Obviously the bad news is in the headline. The good news is, it won't last long.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 2, which oversees our part of the Tri-State, announced on Facebook Tuesday the restrictions will be in place to allow crews to perform routine inspections. All of them are expected to only last for one day anywhere between two to five hours, weather permitting of course.

In case you're having trouble seeing the Facebook post, the full schedule is as follows with the Twin Bridges being first on the list this Thursday.

Thursday, August 22 from 9 a.m. to about 2 p.m., CDT

  • U.S. 41 Twin Bridges at Henderson/Evansville starting on the southbound bridge then moving to northbound – All traffic moved to the left-hand or passing lane

Monday, August 26 from 9 a.m. to about 11:30 a.m., CDT

  • U.S. 231 Ohio River “William Natcher” Bridge at Owensboro – Northbound only with traffic moved to the left-hand or passing lane

Monday, August 26 from 1 p.m., CDT, to about 3 p.m.

  • KY 2266 Ohio River “Blue” Bridge at Owensboro – One lane traffic with flaggers controlling alternating flow

Tuesday, August 27 from 9:00 a.m., CDT, to about 12 Noon

  • KY 69 Ohio River “Bob Cummings-Lincoln Trail” Bridge at Hawesville/Cannelton – One lane traffic with flaggers controlling alternating traffic flow

If any of those bridges are part of your route on those days, give yourself a little extra time to get where you're going, and be sure to SLOW DOWN through those areas. Those crew members are already working in a dangerous enough situation, they don't need you speeding through it and making it worse.
