Local Softball Player in Nasty Home Plate Collision [Video]
16-year-old Caitlyn Lawson has being playing softball since she was 6-years-old. And she's really good at it. In fact, the Daviess County High School standout plays for a traveling team called the Kentucky Mustangs, who, in October, competed at the St. Louis College Showcase Tournament. That's where Caitlyn was involved in one of the worst home-plate collisions I have ever seen.
Amazingly, Caitlyn walked away from this collision with a mild concussion and was ordered to just "take it easy until her headache subsided." It's gone away and she is doing fine.
Oh, and by the way, fully proving that she is worthy of her spot on the traveling team and a complete studette in fast-pitch softball, Caitlyn made that play. The runner was called out.
