If the lack of voters the first six hours of todays primary election in Kentucky is any indication, very few people care. Voters are in short supply today as election officals outnumbered voters in at least 6 precincts we visited.

Newton Parrish School had plenty of room for voters to park up front and inside the election officials were actually looking voters but they were few and far between.

Daviess County High School host three precincts. Workers talked among themselves to try to stay awake and the coffee cups were plentiful. One precinct had only about 26 voters by 10:30, workers said that number is usually in the hundreds.

The same story at College View Middle School. A voter here and there but not many. One family came in to vote with their young children to vote. "This is a great way for the kids to learn about our election system. They were out of school today but by visiting the polls they will pick up a little bit of knowledge voting. I think it is educational", said one of the parents.

A check around noon showed little if any increase in traffic. If the trend continues the prediction of 10% voter turnout may be much higher than anyone thought.

If you are reading this Tuesday afternoon and have not voted, please take a few minutes and get to the polls before 6pm. You vote does count. Remember those who have given their lives so you can vote today. Honor them by going to the polls.
