Lu-Ray Park & Amphitheater Cancels Remaining 2021 Events
Lu-Ray Park & Amphitheater just announced that they are canceling the remainder of events and concerts this season due to the surge of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in Muhlenberg County. Here's what we know.
The Central City Tourism Commission made the announcement due to COVID concerns in the area. This means that the Car Show, Cruise-In, and Concerts, previously scheduled for September 3rd and 4th, 2021 in Downtown Central City, and the ‘90s Night Concert with C+C Music Factory, Tag Team, and DJ Shay, previously scheduled for September 17th, 2021 at Lu-Ray Amphitheater will be canceled. Refunds will be automatically issued to ticket holders for the concert.

“The health and safety of our patrons and our community are our top priorities,” said Dr. Freddie Mayes, Executive Director of Central City Tourism. “While we certainly hoped for the current pandemic outlook to be more positive, we look forward to celebrating a healthier Central City and Muhlenberg County next season.”
Tourism’s Concert Manager, Sean Mooningham added, “We have had some tremendous events and performers all summer long, and that trend was definitely going to continue through Cruise-In and the 90’s Dance Party. However, it’s tough to maintain that sense of celebration when we know so many are fighting for their very lives in this pandemic. At this time, we want our patrons to take care of themselves and their families, and get ready for a safe and healthy and exciting 2022 season.”
