May 11th has been the day when Governor Andy Beshear requested all Kentuckians begin wearing masks in public.

So if you're starting to see more masks, you now know why because that day is here.

WKYT-Lexington does say that folks who aren't wearing masks in public will not be cited, but stores and any businesses reopening on May 11th may reserve the right to refuse service to patrons not wearing one.

In other words, the familiar old sign could be updated to read "No shoes, no shirt, no mask, no service."

I haven't seen one, but those businesses that do want customers masked could go that route.

One customer WKYT spoke with said that it was like wearing a seat belt in that while it wasn't particularly comfortable, it's for safety and she gets it.
