On August 1st, the US Postal Service released new special Forever stamps. The new stamps honor those in the military who are not always recognized, the military working dogs

The collection features four breeds: German shepherd, labrador retriever, Dutch shepherd, and Belgian Malinois.

Check them out.

Military working dogs have served and aided soldiers in two World Wars, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars. The 341st Training Squadron at Lackland Air Force base outside of San Antonio, Texas trains American military working dogs and their handlers.

When the dogs reach retirement age, they are usually adopted by their handlers or civilians. There are memorials all over the country dedicated to these animals.

The booklets of 20 stamps are available online and at post offices nationwide.
