NonViolent Owensboro and the Daviess County Public Library have joined together to invite the community to a photography competition.  The contest will highlight diversity in the community.

Starting Tuesday, September 1, and running through, Tuesday, September 15, anyone can submit a photo showing diversity throughout the community whether it is at play, work, serving others, or at worship.

The competition will finish up right before the International Day of Peace which will take place on Monday, September 21.

Campaign Nonviolence Week will be right before the International Day of Peace.

According to the InternationalPeace.org;

Established in 1981 by unanimous United Nations resolution, Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace.

They will award three top prizes.

All photos will be displayed from September 19-27 on the second floor. Photos will also be posted on our Facebook page. The 3 photos that receive the most votes from both in-person votes and Facebook votes will receive the following prizes:

1st place: Digital camera, SD card, and case

2nd place: Instant Polaroid camera with accessories

3rd place: $50 gift card to Shutterfly
